Lucky Penny

Lucky Penny formed in late 2021. While they make a great team, Kerry McConaway is the musical powerhouse of the duo.

She grew up on tiny Beaver Island in the middle of Lake Michigan but spent most of the last 25 years in the Milwaukee, WI area. In 2022, she followed her heart to Lansing, MI where they now write and perform music.

While she can feel the muses while listening to any song, she is particularly influenced by Keith Urban, Dan + Shay, Martina McBride, and Lord Huron (who are coincidentally from around the corner in Okemos).

When she began writing with The Element, she developed a country-inspired style. She has been known to bring the sass like Miranda Lambert, the story-telling of Taylor Swift, and the smooth feel of an aged whiskey.

Kerry has had a long history in music, highlighted by her stint in her band The Element. With The Element, she toured the Midwest playing State Fairs, casinos, and more. She opened for acts such as Kieth Urban, Montgomery Gentry, Dierks Bentley, Martina McBride, Blake Shelton among many others.
